St Patrick’s Day Means Green Depression Glass on the Table

March 13, 2013 by Kathy 7 Comments

Just a short post to show off a table all set with green.  Think of it as inspiration for your St. Patrick’s Day celebration and a prelude to spring! I showed our Cameo table setting a while back on this vintage table cloth.

You can read the original blog post here: Cameo Green Depression Tablescape. I reset the same glass on a bright, cheerful table cloth to give us that boost in spring time thinking.  Which do you like better?

I worried the vintage cloth with the fruits might be too busy but it is fine, a cheerful backdrop.  Cameo glass is so spectacular your eyes go right past the cloth! This next picture shows some of the Cameo pieces we have, including the shakers with dented tops. Pitchers are some of the best pieces you can get – useful, pretty, great conversation starters. The Cameo one is tops.

Hocking must have had fun with Cameo. There are an amazing number of pieces you can choose. This next picture shows just a few of the plethora of stems and tumblers available. Let’s see. We have the water goblet, short sherbet, footed tumbler and flat tumbler. I thought about putting out the champagne sherbet too but that was just too much!

Which of the drinking ware do you like the best? My hands down favorite is the footed tumbler. I love that cone shape.

Here’s what it looks like when you sit down to enjoy a meal with the Cameo dinner set.

Here’s another view. Our dining room is tucked next to the staircase going up. I stood partway up and got this close up so you can see the full table decked out in green.

A couple more pictures of this fun table. Then it’s time to go enjoy the day!
