Here is a mystery, in fact two mysteries. These two candle holders have baffled me for a couple of years now. I got them in a box lot on eBay full of candle holders. I got the lot because I am just a sucker for vintage mystery crystal candle holders and because most of the others were easy to identify.
I didn’t recognize this duo when they came and I still didn’t recognize them after going through my trusty 3-volume candle holder book again. I thought it would easy, more a case of finding too many similar candlesticks and having to weed through them looking for fine differences. What I found instead is that none of the candle holders in my books had the right combination of base, stem and top. The books I like the best are the set from Felt and Stoer.
It’s time to ask for help. Do you recognize either of these? They are both about 6 inches tall, nice quality glass but not knock-your-socks-off quality. I’m leaning towards thinking they may be European and not from an American company.
