We’ve been looking at Fostoria Fairfax, including some look-alike patterns, interesting pieces that we have had over the years, and now let’s look at stemware.
Fostoria made blank 5098 and sold it both plain and decorated. We know it today as Fairfax, although Fostoria didn’t call it that. Fostoria made it in clear, blue, green, topaz and pink plus some pieces in amber, mother of pearl on blue and wisteria. This goblet is rose pink with the June etch.

On this stem line the foot and stem are clear crystal and the bowl is colored or clear. You can spot Fairfax by the six-sided stem, the faceted knop at the top and the extended petals that grasp the base of the bowl. It’s classy and the knop makes it easy to hold.
Fostoria made a full line of stemware included footed tumblers like this Versailles azure blue water tumbler. Theses don’t have much of a stem – there is no knop – but they have the distinctive petals below the bowl.

Besides the water goblet shown in pink above, Fostoria made two wine goblets, two sherbets, cocktail, cordial plus whiskey and grapefruits in some colors and decorated patterns. Here is the cocktail in crystal with June etch.

Typical of the 1930s the wine goblets are small. This June topaz goblet holds only about three ounces.
