Cameo Dancing Girl – Rainbow or All Green Depression Glass?

April 13, 2011 by Kathy 6 Comments

I have a confession to make. I was cropping photos for today’s tablescape of a very pretty rainbow depression glass table when it dawned on me. I used these before!   That left me without photos and no time to get the glass, set the table, take the pictures and write this post. So we’re going to have a reprise with three different tablescapes all featuring Cameo Ballerina depression glass.

Here is the all green Cameo depression glass table post.  I love Cameo.  It is just a beautiful pattern with a lovely design of a dancer surrounded by swags and scrolls.  You can tell how much I enjoy it because I’ve used it so much in table settings and my featured pieces during the week.

We bought a large set last summer from an older couple whose children didn’t want it.  We paid too much for it but gosh, how do you tell an elderly gentleman that his mom’s glass just isn’t worth what he wants?  I’ve sold several pieces because I’m not the only one who likes it!

Here’s the rainbow table setting that I was working on (again) this week.  The green glass is Cameo, the pretty oval bowl is Miss America pink depression glass and the gorgeous green server is Mayfair Open Rose.  I love the way the vintage stemware picks up the dancer and swag design and complements it in etched crystal.  These are Tiffin Cherokee Rose goblets and champagne sherbets.  Here is the original rainbow depression glass post.

I even used Cameo green tumblers with Limoges china a couple weeks ago.  That post is here and many of you commented how much you enjoyed seeing the colorful glass with the mostly white china.  The green glass picks up the green design around the rim.

The next time we use Cameo I want to combine the yellow and green.  I bet that will be pretty.  We have more green pieces but let’s see how the green plates and serving pieces work with yellow cups, then mix it all up and combine yellow plates with the rest all green.  Till next time!

My thanks to Susan from Between Naps on the Porch for hosting this fun event.
