It’s Saturday, the sun is shining, it’s even warm enough to go rake out the leaves in the flower beds! When our hearts turn to springtime and flowers then it’s time to think ahead to the lazy days of summer and icy cold treats. This week’s pick is from Cambridge Glass, and perfectly suited to a cold sherbet or an icy mimosa. Either would be grand when the heat begins.
This elegant etched stem is the tall sherbet with the Chantilly etch. It’s graceful and a lovely shape and design.
Cambridge Chantilly Tall Sherbet Etched Vintage Crystal Stemware
Cambridge Glass made Chantilly around the same time as Rose Point and used many of the same shapes for plates and bowls. The Chantilly stemware is different. Cambridge used the 3625 stems for Chantilly and not for any other etch. That was unusual for them as Cambridge typically used their stemware lines with multiple etches.
You can also find Chantilly on other shapes. The 3600 stem is similar to the one I’m showing, but the base of the goblet bowl is more rounded. There are other shapes etched with Chantilly but you are less likely to see them.
