I am so very lucky, so fortunate. You see, I get to do exactly what I’ve always dreamed of – run my own business and buy, hold and admire beautiful glass. I got into this when I found eBay in 1999 and realized that I could start a business. I found the elegant glass section [...]

Isn’t this pretty? It is the footed candleholder in Fostoria Glass June etch. June has flowers tied with ribbons and bows and is an exquisite etched pattern from the depression era. In a previous post about June candleholders I showed the taller candlestick with rolled scroll edge, pure art deco design. This time we’re [...]

Isn’t this a gorgeous bowl? It has a rolled rim that flips up at the ends and four tab feet, quite a nice, unusual shape. To top it off, the etch is big urns surrounded by paisley shaped swags and scrolls that repeat around the rim. Console bowls with rolled rims are great to show [...]

We talked before about how I can’t resist etched candle holders, how about you? Leave a comment and let me know what you think about them. I’m fascinated with the wide diversity of style and shape and just enjoy the beautiful etches and the neat shapes. This came from a twice-yearly big flea market [...]

Our customers asked and we listened! Our stores, Vintage Elegant Depression Glass and Cat Lady Kate’s Elegant and Depression Glass, now concentrate on fewer glass makers and patterns. This lets us offer more pieces in selected patterns, giving you more opportunity to find what you want. One of our patterns is Fostoria Versailles etched [...]

Isn’t this pretty? I used to have two of these stems and brought one down from my glass room to list in my store. Like a dummy I was carrying several things loose – since I took them out of the box - and naturally this is the piece I dropped! Ouch. This little stem [...]

Candleholders, Beautiful Candleholders. This one is Fostoria June Isn’t this pretty? I showed off some of my favorite things – console bowls, center handled servers – and here is my third, etched elegant candleholders. This particular one is Fostoria Glass June etched. The etching is beautiful, yes, and the color is a soft pretty [...]

Isn’t this a pretty etch? It has flower baskets alternating with tassels all connected by generous swags and an intricate border above. For some reason Cambridge Glass didn’t have a pattern name for this, which is a shame as it is one of their more notable etchings. We are showing the water goblet [...]

A couple posts ago we showed one of my favorite things, elegant depression glass console bowls. Here’s another type of glass that is equally entrancing, the center handled sandwich server, also called center handled tray, center handled server or CHS. Regardless what you call it, this is one of the signature pieces of the depression [...]

Beautiful June etched glass from Fostoria is one of the most elegant etchings from the depression era. It is a joyful, happy design with bouquets and flowers spilling out and cascading down the side, all tied with a ribbon and a bow. There is a second ribbon twirling around in big U shaped loops. [...]
