Best Books for Depression Glass
This is the final book in Gene Florence’s long and distinguished depression glass series. It has good photographs, an interesting write up and lists of colors and prices for each pattern. Prices tend to be low for some patterns and pieces. The back has a good section on reproductions which is essential if you decide to collect one of the patterns that has been reproduced. Gene Florence will show you how to do it safely.
Pocket Guide to Depression Glass & More: 1920s-1960s: Identification & Values [PCKT GT DEPRESSION GLASS &-16E]
This handy little guide is good to keep in your car or stash in your briefcase if you want to do some spur of the moment depression glass hunting. It’s smaller than the large encyclopedia and does not include as many patterns as the bigger encyclopedia. It does have several patterns from the 1940s-60s including Fire King.
The downside of this pocket guide is that it omits many pieces and some colors from the patterns.
