Now here’s a fancy piece of glass! This compote has a beautiful scalloped rim, lovely molded stem and scrolls and flowers all etched on crystal.
The pattern is Chantilly from Cambridge Glass. It looks like it Chantilly lace, doesn’t it? I love this etch when I feel like adding a spot of pretty. It’s far removed from those minimalistic spare designs that don’t have a frill on them. Yet it goes well with the simple shapes too. A plain table setting provides a frame for this fancy piece.
I got a small set of Chantilly etched crystal last week. No doubt you’ll see more of this lovely pattern in future blog posts!
This would be a fancy piece in my home. What’s your favorite fancy?
