Doric & Pansy Ultramarine Sugar Bowl Depression Glass Full Size
Sugar bowls are easy to find in most depression glass patterns – but not so in Doric & Pansy. This is the full-size adult sugar bowl in the ultramarine teal color. It’s a gorgeous piece and the color is excellent, rich and true teal.
The one downside of Doric & Pansy is the pieces have three little grooves or ridges running along the top edge of the design and those little ridges got nicked over the last 80 years. Sugar bowl has one tiny, shallow nick in one of the ridges and there is a bubble that popped open on the rim that made a little pinhole. Sugar is otherwise free of damage.
This is one of those pieces you hesitate before buying because let’s face it, it is pricey. But you’ll be glad you have such fun piece when it greets you each morning with its incredible teal color.
Doric and Pansy Ultramarine Cup Depression Glass
Lovely color and design! Doric and Pansy depression glass from Jeannette has wonderful detail and the ultramarine color is wonderful. This pattern looks wonderful on your table and mixes well with other dishes, even your china. Jeannette made small Doric and Pansy cups they sold as toy dishes; please note this listing is the full size, adult cup.
Cup is 2 1/4 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches across at the rim. As with almost all Doric and Pansy pieces the three narrow horizontal ridges that run along the top of the design have minuscule shallow nicks. Otherwise cup is in excellent condition.
You can save by buying more than one cup.
Doric and Pansy Ultramarine 5 7/8 Inch Bread and Butter Plate
Here’s one of those super useful small side plates that are great for a roll, dessert, or even a small salad. (Personally I like dessert.) This size is a puzzler whether it was originally part of the Pretty Polly child’s doll dishes or toy dishes, or whether it’s the full adult size bread and butter plate. My reference books show the doll dishes at 5 3/4 inches and the bread and butter plates at 6 inches wide and this is right in the middle. The person I bought it from used it as part of their adult dinnerware set, so let’s go with that.
It’s 5 7/8 inches across and a slightly greener shade of teal than are the cups and saucers. The color blends well with all the various shades of teal that you’ll see in Jeannette’s Ultramarine depression glass. Plate has no chips or cracks, very light wear and the usual extra blobs of glass and bubbles.
Doric and Pansy Greenish Ultramarine Dinner Plate
This is the Doric and Pansy dinner plate that has a greenish colored rim. You can see the greenish rim when you hold the plate to the light.
