Hazel Atlas Aurora Cobalt Blue Depression Glass Cup
This weekend we went to a mini family reunion in eastern Ohio. My sister and sisters in law and two nieces went antiquing to a small flea market and an antique store that had tons of beautiful glass. None of my other family is very interested in glass; although both sisters in law have a few pieces they treasures from grandmothers or moms, they don’t want more pieces pieces.
Nonetheless, the ladies were fascinated with the beautiful glass and the colors and sparkling designs. Several booths had large displays of Rose Point and they enjoyed looking for the pieces one sister in law has. They enjoyed the elegant etched crystal and beautiful depression colors and the gorgeous patterns and seeing it laid out so well.
Why? Why is it that depression glass – which you shouldn’t wash in the dishwasher and you can’t buy brand new – is still so popular? I’m interested in your ideas.
